Time to get Weir'd

Nice to see the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir get his due. While the focus of the band was always on Jerry Garcia, and rightfully so, Weir proved to be an inventive and underrated rhythm player, and the yin to Garcia's yang in many ways. Aside from his own formidable songwriting output, he brought some great cover material into the band, including Kris Kristofferson's "Me and Bobby McGee," Johnny Cash's "Big River," and assorted songs from Chuck Berry. He is also now the subject of "The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir", a rock-doc biography debuting at the Tribeca Film Festival. While we await a broader release, Vanity Fair has an great "In Conversation" piece this month with Weir. You can read it online here.
