Bono apologizes...

Not that we felt it was necessary — I love free music and appreciated the gesture — but Bono (and, presumable, the rest of U2) officially issued an apolgy to all those who were offended by the band's stunt of placing a free download of their new album into their iTunes account. While it shouldn't be long now before folks start attacking the sincerity of his apology, the words chosen or his demeanor or manner in delivering said apology, you can read about it for yourself here. There is also a video with the band answering their critics, who called them "rude," and fans who asked about other more important things.
